Feb 19 2008 - 6:00pm

The opening of The Sharing Place Thrift Shop on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, offers the Northeast Florida community an opportunity to find great buys while helping people in need.

Operated by Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida (LSS), The Sharing Place offers household goods, furniture, office equipment, knick-knacks, collectibles, appliances, clothes, jewelry, and more for sale. Purchases will provide much-needed revenue to fund programs and services of LSS to help the people served by the agency.

People can donate to help The Sharing Place as well. Some of the items donated to The Sharing Place will be used to help refugees and their families who have arrived in the United States with little or nothing and people helped by Lutheran Social Services’ AIDS Care & Education Program.

The Sharing Place is located at Lutheran Social Services’ main offices, 4615 Philips Highway, between University Boulevard and Emerson Street, with the store's entrance off Hudnall Road. To learn more about LSS and The Sharing Place, visit www.lssjax.org/sharingplace.asp.
